Probably the most commonly studied of all the styles, Jazz is an exciting and entertaining style of dance utilizing elements of ballet and modern dance, incorporating syncopation, rhythm and isolations of the body. Jazz classes work on gaining strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, musicality and performance skills. Beginner students are introduced to basic jazz technique including jazz positions, turns, jumps and leaps. Students will also learn center and loco-motor progressions as well as proper stretching technique to enhance strength and flexibility. As the student progresses, classes will focus on dance conditioning and alignment while improving upon already established jazz technique.
